Benefit
- For Beijing International Student scholarship, it can be applied via Tsinghua in the International Student (Undergraduate) Application system. The outstanding international undergraduate freshmen can apply for tuition scholarship (full, half or partial) for the first academic year.
- For the next two, three or four years, the student will go through an evaluation via the school’s council to renew the scholarship.
- The results of the scholarship of upcoming freshmen will be posted in the application system. The student should verify the scholarship status in the system to avoid unnecessary payment before semester registration.

- 1. Front page of personal and parents’ passport, personal visa, and passport pages with entry customs stamps (if applicable). Please make sure the expiration date of passport is later than October 1, 2026. Otherwise students cannot apply for a visa in the first academic year of Tsinghua University.
- 2. The final degree certificate or pre-graduation certificate (in Chinese or English, must be an original copy).
- 1) Certificate of pre-graduation issued by the high school that will issue the diploma, the expected graduation time should be indicated (for applicants who will graduate from high school by August 2026);
- 2) Graduation certificate of high school (for applicants who have already graduated from high school);
- 3) Certificate of enrollment from the university (for applicants who are studying in a university).
- 3. Curriculum Vitae (in Chinese or English).
- 4. High school/University (if applicable) transcripts (in Chinese or English, must be original copy).
- 1) Currently available high school transcripts (for applicants who will graduate from high school by August 2026);
- 2) Complete set of high school transcripts (for applicants who have already graduated from high school);
- 3) High school transcripts and the currently available university transcripts (for applicants who are studying in a university)
- 5. Test Report of HSK Level 4 or above (within the validity period, applicants for English-taught programs are not required to provide this).
- 6. Certificate of National/Regional Graduation Examination/Matriculation Examination and/or the results of international standard tests (e.g. SAT/ACT/A-Level/AP/IB/CSCA/others).
- 7. Test Report of English language test (e.g. TOEFL/IELTS/others, within the validity period).
- 8. Two Recommendation Letters: the letter template will be sent directly to the recommender’s email address by the online application system.
- 9. Personal statement (in Chinese or English).
- 10. Form for the Financial Sponsor (template is available in the online application system), Employment or Income Certificate of the Financial Sponsor.
- 11. Applicants who used to hold Chinese citizenship (including Hong Kong S.A.R., Macau S.A.R. or China Taiwan residents) and immigrated to a foreign country or who meet the conditions described in the Document No. 12 (2020) of Ministry of Education of the PRC should submit the following documents:
- 1) Immigration Certificate
- 2) Proof of Cancellation of Original Chinese Citizenship
- 3) Birth Certificate
- 4) Certificate of Renunciation of Chinese nationality (if any)
- 5) Proof of actually living or studying abroad for more than two years in the last four years (since May 1, 2022). (The time period from May 1, 2022, to April 30, 2023, is considered one year, and so on. Over 9 months’ residency abroad within each year can be rounded up to one year, with entry and exit dates referred to entry and exit stamps.)
- 6) Proof of nationality of both parents by the time of the applicant’s birth, including the certificate of overseas permanent residence that has been obtained
- 7) Additional materials requested by Tsinghua University.
- 12. Proof of HSK test waiver (native language is Chinese or learning in Chinese in high school, applicants for English-taught programs are not required to provide this).
- 13. Self-Introduction Video (in both Chinese and English, no more than 3 minutes & less than 20 MB. The format of the video can be: mov, mp4, avi, rmvb, flv).
- 14. Portfolio (for applicants who are applying for Arts Division (Design & Fine Arts) or Architecture Division), there is no limitation on the number or the form of the works; Form for confirming that student has independently completiedthe Architecture Portfolio (template is available in the online application system).
- 15. Other supporting materials such as awards, admission letter(s) from other universities, etc.
- 16. In addition to the documents mentioned above, Tsinghua University may require further information and materials.
